JOB SUMMARY

The tax manager is responsible for quarterly and annual income tax provision calculation and disclosures, U.S. Federal and State income tax compliance, oversight of foreign tax compliance, global transfer pricing, and planning projects.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Owns the quarterly tax provision process, including calculation of the deferred tax assets and liabilities, effective income tax rate reconciliation, and preparation of the relevant disclosures under US GAAP and in accordance with ASC 740
  • Monitors quarterly compliance with the SOX internal controls standards as it pertains to tax functions
  • Ensures the accurate and timely filing of the Company’s U.S. (Federal, International, and State) compliance forms consistent with management philosophy and tax law requirements, including the preparation of federal and state returns, as well as international tax calculations such as GILTI, FDII, FTC and BEAT.
  • Maintains tax depreciation calculations and ensures the book to tax adjustments are properly calculated
  • Quarterly, monitors the tax impact of various items, including stock based compensation items
  • Assists in preparation of the annual Research & Development Tax Credit study, including meetings/interviews with operations and engineering personnel, review of project documentation, and credit and controlled group calculations
  • Closely works with the tax director to coordinate certain indirect tax filings, including GST/HST and VAT
  • Oversees reconciliation and maintenance of global income tax accounts
  • Provides necessary support, documentation, answers to questions, and aid to external auditors, tax compliance providers, and other members of the company
  • Manages annual transfer pricing compliance and documentation, including Country by Country reporting (CbCR), required transfer pricing calculations, implementation, and oversees intercompany transactions
  • Monitors legislative and regulatory tax law developments, and communicates the effect of these developments to the tax team
  • Conducts technical research and documents findings and recommendations on tax technical issues
  • Assists with Controversies and prepare IDR responses as needed
  • Leads and coordinates special ad hoc projects and tax driven business initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION /SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • CPA with a major in Accounting, Tax is preferred
  • 7+ years of experience at a major public accounting firm and/or tax department of a multinational corporation
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and/or international corporate tax law
  • Required experience includes US tax compliance and ASC 740
  • Experience with Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, foreign tax credit calculations, 163(j), and other international rules
  • Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities
  • Strong oral, written and computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex global environment, and adapt to a continually changing business and work environment
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Tax
  • Experience with SAP is preferred

COMPENSATION:

  • $130,000-$160,000 – varies by location and experience
