Superior Group of Companies®, and our employees globally, are passionately committed to being responsible corporate citizens. This is evident by our strict ethical and social policies, by the support we provide for a host of charitable organizations, and by our actions every day, around the world. Our efforts range from beautifying our local community and keeping sea life safe with local beach clean-ups, to upholding strict social compliance standards in every one of our facilities overseas.

Superior Group of Companies, and its family of brands, have a long-standing commitment to our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, and we are proud of our teams around the world that have embraced our culture of being responsible for one another.

Creating a Sustainable Environment
Creating a Sustainable Environment SGC is commit­ted to supporting the communities where we operate. This includes partnering with the Salvadoran Foundation for Health and Human Development (FUSAL) since 2011. Their program,”Libras de Amor” (translated: “Pounds of Love”), is focused on reducing malnutrition in children, and creating a self-sustaining environment for families in high-risk communities in El Salvador.

Clothing Donations
Clothing Donations In the past 15 years, Superior Group of Companies has donated over 1.5 million articles of clothing to various foundations and missions all over the world, including FUSAL, Provision International, and other organizations. In 2017 alone, Superior Group of Companies and its divisions have donated over 60,350 garments to areas throughout Central America and the Caribbean, working alongside various organizations. A core portion of those garments are used in sewing training centers, which take the adult-sized garments and cut them down into clothing for school age children.

Corporate Social Responsibility In response to the devastation in Houston caused by Hurricane Harvey, Superior Group of Companies opened our distribution center in Eudora, AR as a clothing donation drop-off site. In total, we successfully donated over 25,000 garments to the victims of the hurricane in Houston and its surrounding areas.

Social Compliance
We have always upheld a rigorous social compliance program, so it was no surprise that Superior Group of Companies spearheaded the social compliance movement when the matter came to the forefront of the U.S. textile and apparel industry in the mid-90s. Through multifaceted education and enforcement initiatives, Superior Group of Companies set the standard for social compliance programs within the textile and apparel industry. In fact, Superior Group of Companies unrelenting effort to raise social compliance standards has been acknowledged nationally as “trendsetting” by the U.S. Government.

Social Compliance Superior Group of Companies continues to enforce a zero-tolerance, global social compliance program, ensuring compliance with the social standards for working conditions, wages and local laws within the countries we do business. We require our suppliers to communicate and uphold the requirements listed in our Supplier and Vendor Compliance Manual with their employees, suppliers, and vendors. To further ensure that our social compliance standards are upheld, factories overseas are visited multiple times throughout the year by Superior Group of Companies personnel and third-party inspectors, such as SGS and BetterWorks. Superior Group of Companies also utilizes certification programs, such as the Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP), for various production facilities overseas.

Eco-friendly Environment
Superior Group of Companies promotes an eco-friendly environment at all of our facilities. Beyond supplying educational materials, we have also implemented various Green programs to reduce our carbon footprint. Initiatives include:

  • Saving more than 600 trees by reducing annual paper consumption over the past three years.
  • Superior Uniform Group’s call center vertical, The Office Gurus, operates as a paperless workplace.
  • Recycling corrugated material including batteries and iron from Superior Uniform Group’s worldwide distribution center.
  • Implementing single-stream recycling which eliminated the need to sort to encourage more recycling by employees.
  • Installing light switch timers and energy saving lighting to reduce energy use.
  • Providing water coolers to encourage reusable water bottles.
  • Offering company sponsored paper-shredding days for employees.
  • Utilizing eco-friendly fabrics like polyester containing recycled water bottles in garment construction.

Green Team
SGC is proud to support an employee-led Green Team. In addition to participating in quarterly beach clean-ups throughout each year, the Green Team supports internal Green initiatives and keeps our employees educated in ways they can help the environment.


Save the Syrian Children

Something that started as regular donations turned into something much larger for BAMKO, LLC President, Phil Koosed and his wife, Tamar. Their unwavering dedication runs deep, and crosses thousands of miles to aid those who have fallen victim to the Syrian civil war; which led them to start their own charity: Save the Syrian Children. 

SGC, partnered with Save the Syrian Children, donated over 33,000 medical scrubs to the courageous doctors, nurses and medical assistants in the Idlib province in Syria. 


Community Involvement

Superior Group of Companies is proud to continuously support the Morton Plant Mease Foundation through various events held in the Tampa Bay community. SGC had the opportunity to be a presenting sponsor at the 29th Annual Morton Health Care Foundation Golf Tournament in November 2018. Proceeds from the event benefit the Dr. George A. Morris Earn as you Learn Nursing Education Program. This program ensures that nurses are provided with the necessary education to provide the highest level of quality care to patients and the community.

It’s rewarding working at a place that gives back in so many ways. Superior Uniform is part of the Adopt-A-Shore program and has been hosting on-site blood drives since 1987! Participating in these activities really makes me feel like part of a great team.

I’ve been a part of the Superior family for six years… and appreciate all of the extras offered. Like an on-site Yoga class, a walking program and monthly wellness and nutrition seminars. It feels good knowing I’m important to the company as a person.
