JOB SUMMARY

The Manager provides leadership and coordination of a significant divisional accounting close process, full cycle accounting processes; financial statements; internal reporting; risk management; internal control oversight; and external audit administration. The candidate will help develop best in class processes surrounding the monthly close process. Role shall be primary in the conduct and oversight of the subsidiary’s financial statement close process and review of operating results to ensure the company’s compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. This position is an excellent career-building opportunity for a self-motivated and career-oriented individual.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary responsibility includes all aspects of full cycle accounting processes for a significant division. Responsible for the related financial processes and internal control procedures
  • Manages the monthly accounting close efficiently and accurately
  • Directs the preparation and ensures the accuracy of all financial reports; including income statements, balance sheets, management reports
  • Supervises, develops and provides guidance to accounting staff
  • Uses automation and process efficiency to shorten and improve the close cycle
  • Reviews balance sheet reconciliations and assists with maintenance of specific schedules
  • Performs distribution and assessment cycles within SAP, including the creation and maintenance of cost centers and profit centers
  • Assists in analyzing and reviewing transactions for proper GAAP treatment
  • Maintains an environment, which cultivates open communication, collaboration, and teamwork with all departments, including corporate and other business divisions, throughout the company
  • Special projects, other duties/responsibilities as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 7+ years total accounting experience
  • Significant SAP accounting experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of GAAP and SOX compliance
  • Excellent analytical reasoning and problem solving skills
  • Project management skills and experience
  • Experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance related issues
  • CPA or pursuing CPA license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years minimum experience in Big 4 Accounting
  • Local to St. Petersburg
