JOB SUMMARY

The Benefits Manager is responsible for the administration of employee benefits, including health and welfare plans.  This role develops and improves benefits plans, compensation programs and processes, to ensure both cost-efficiency and a positive employee experience.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project manages Annual Enrollment to include: vendor administration requirements, development of training and employee benefits communications, and collection of statistical and census data
  • Participates in the annual review of current benefits offerings, plan design changes and cost sharing strategy recommendation.
  • Partners with the payroll department and benefits director to ensure the setup of benefits information is correct in HRIS
  • Partners with HR leaders and Talent Acquisition to ensure all compensation is within company guidelines
  • Maintains contact with vendors, employees, and beneficiaries and resolves benefit inquiries to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution
  • Administers Leave of Absence Program to include FMLA, non FMLA leaves, workers compensation and ADAAA
  • Executes wellness program implementations and communication throughout the year
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all laws, regulations and practices affecting employee benefits programs and ensures that SGC benefits programs are compliant
  • Manages and communicates other employee recognition programs
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Human Resources certification required
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience with employee benefits, compensation and FMLA administration      
  • Minimum of 1 year project management experience
  • HRIS or Payroll system experience, ADP preferred
  • Understanding of HRIS benefits module design, structure, functions, and processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
