Global Sourcing Manager (Coppell, TX)

The Global Sourcing Manager will play a crucial role in helping the VP of Global Sourcing optimize our supply chain, drive cost efficiencies, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality raw materials and finished goods. This role is responsible for developing and managing supplier relationships, including negotiating with outside vendors to ensure appropriate quality, pricing and factory capacity.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Open to Buy planning with S&OP team to ensure margin goals are met with proper inventory management.
  • Ensures that all approvals from Product Development and Tech Design have been received in a timely manner per our Go to Market calendar in order to maintain bulk delivery requirements.
  • Material management and negotiation strategies including global sourcing.
  • Request and analyze quotations and bids. Promote the need to share cost break down analysis to aide negotiations of per unit cost, commanding best overall cost and commercial terms.
  • Train and direct personnel (internal and overseas teams); strategic supplier reviews, product lifecycle management, and obsolete inventory disposition.
  • Works with Raw Materials Planner to ensure fabric and trim needs are aligned with finished goods PO’s.
  • Develop measure and report performance metrics related to purchasing, strategic planning, and inventory management.
  • Develop and support relationships with strategic suppliers within assigned regions to ensure quality consumer products are manufactured and delivered on time. (including traveling to the manufacturing plants)
  • Evaluate existing sources for technical capability and progressiveness, manufacturing capability, quality system, management and financial stability, cost competitiveness and responsiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Economics or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with production sourcing, product development, or merchandising in apparel required.
  • Strong working knowledge of production process, garment construction, and technical design.
  • Foundational understanding of global trade agreements and trade regulations.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot production issues and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in the Uniform industry highly valued.
  • Experience with SAP/CIMs or comparable MRP/ERP systems preferred.
