Tax Senior Manager

The Senior Manager of Tax will have direct responsibility for the world wide income tax functions. This role is primarily responsible for overseeing preparation and review of the consolidated U.S. income tax return for the Superior Group of Companies (SGC), along with various state income tax returns. This role will perform and oversee all functions related to tax accounting and reporting, including the quarterly and annual income tax provision and deferred tax accounting and reporting.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees and manages tax projects on a global scale
- Oversees preparation and review of the international and domestic U.S. tax return for SGC and related supporting schedules
- Oversees preparation and review of the state tax returns for SGC and subsidiaries
- Responsible for quarterly tax provision and related work papers including deferred tax schedules
- Prepares tax-related disclosures for financial statements and SEC filings
- Monitors and reviews tax legislation to assess applicability to the Company
- Works internally with VP of tax and with external advisors on tax strategies
- Involved in maintaining and implementing transfer pricing policies and agreements with foreign affiliates
- Provides support to management and other departments (accounting, finance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, HR, sales, etc.) on tax-related issues and considerations
- Manages all tax-related audit processes (IRS, state, local, etc.)
- Ensures compliance in internal controls and SOX for all tax functions
- Mentors and provides training and support to tax personnel
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Taxation
- 10+ years of corporate tax preparation experience
- Deep, substantial knowledge and experience with domestic corporate tax concepts and applicability is required
- Experience with International corporate tax concepts and applicability is required
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with tax-related software packages, including OneSource tax provision and compliance tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with SAP or other large ERP system a plus
- Experience with OneSource tax provision
- CPA strongly preferred
