Senior Accountant (Remote)

This position is an excellent career-building opportunity for a self-motivated and career-oriented individual. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions to support a timely and accurate financial statement close process. Areas of primary focus will include revenue, SAP closing activities related to the Company’s Uniforms and Related Products Segment (includes Corporate) and other monthly close activities. ROLE AND RESPONIBILITIES

  • Coordinates and reviews consolidated sales reporting activities to ensure that management reporting is accurate and timely
  • Troubleshoots revenue systems issues and identifies required accounting fixes to ensure accurate monthly financial reporting;
  • Takes ownership for the creation and maintenance of cost centers and profit centers within SAP
  • Performs distribution and assessment cycles within SAP, including the maintenance of statistical key figures and quantities
  • Supports the Segment Controller in review of the financial statements, including monthly/quarterly reporting activities, review of vendor receivables and maintenance of capitalized purchasing schedules.
  • Prepares journal entries, both standard and non-recurring, and assists with the verification of transactions to ensure appropriateness, accuracy, and validity
  • Performs timely balance sheet reconciliations and assists with maintenance of specific schedules
  • Partners with the Segment Controller to develop best practices for an efficient and effective close process
  • Supports the annual external audit process by preparing or coordinating with the internal teams to ensure work papers for audit are prepared timely and accurately

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or Finance;
  • Minimum 5 years of directly related experience;
  • Ability to work independently with the ability to resolve inconsistencies and problems and deliver results with a limited amount of supervision;
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting standards (GAAP);
  • ERP systems experience preferred (e.g., SAP); and
  • Proficient in MS Office, including the ability to perform pivots and V-lookups in Excel.
