JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant assists in developing and implementing processes to support accurate reporting of Financial Results.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs monthly closing process for Financial Reporting
- Provides financial support to subsidiaries/divisions
- Prepares/reviews subsidiary Financial Statements
- Resolves discrepancies by working with other departments within the company
- Prepares journal entries for posting, including documents for support
- Completes account analysis and reconciliation using SAP accounting records and ISynergy document handling software
- Reconciles balance sheet accounts and resolution of reconciling items
- Analyzes cost center and profit center reports and identifies reasons for fluctuations between periods
- Assist with developing and maintaining internal control procedures
- Assists with process walkthroughs and interactions with auditors
- Assist in developing and implementing processes to support accurate reporting of Financial Results
- Directs other accounting staff in assisting with departmental projects
- Runs SAP reports and prepares and reviews internal management reports in Excel
- Creates and maintains documentation of processes and procedures related to primary responsibilities
- Prepares state property tax and income tax returns
- Performs monthly forecasting and prepares annual budget
- Corporate observer for periodic physical inventories
- Other Duties/Responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
- 10+ years of recent accounting experience
- Requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact successfully with all levels of the organization and with external business partners
- Requires high degree of professionalism, sound judgement, and good written and verbal communication skills
- Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate a high degree of accuracy
