JOB SUMMARY

As the raw materials inventory planner, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all relevant fabric and trim production to ensure the highest quality and performance characteristics that align with brand standards. This will include negotiating pricing and managing on-time deliveries with the trim suppliers, and working with CID’s Fabric Development team to monitor fabric stock levels and production statuses.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring that all CID materials have a BOM with fabric (and trim if purchased by CID) with correct consumptions
    Review SAP forecast and place orders with mills for fabrics needed to meet production needs
  • Order and track sample fabrics and trims to be used for internal prototyping as well as Salesmen sample development oversees
  • Work with the Procurement and Production teams to ensure appropriate material pricing, MOQs, and development lead times
  • Follow up with agents and vendors to ensure on-time scheduling and delivery of materials to various production facilities by maintaining fabric and materials WIP reports
  • Provide quarterly reporting of inventory on hand versus forecast and provide alerts for possibilities of any obsolete fabrics/trims
  • Communicate daily with internal teams (Merchandising, Design, Production, QC, etc.) and external partners (vendors & factories) to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly
  • Clarify and reinforce sampling needs, Quality Assurance standards, and development of policies/procedures for the agents & factories and for new internal and international employees
  • Collaborate with Sourcing, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and other internal and international departments to complete assigned materials development within the allotted timelines
  • Assist with the documentation and validation of liabilities, excess fabric disposal and sampling charges

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with textile and raw materials preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • SAP and/or Centric PLM systems a huge plus
  • MS Office (especially Excel) and Outlook proficiency
  • Detail-oriented and organized with ability to multitask
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with domestic and overseas vendors a must
