Job Title:          Project Manager

Status:              Exempt

Objective:        The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict quality standards, deadlines and within budget while maintaining high levels of safety and customer satisfaction. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle in coordination with the sponsoring team. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development staff to production staff by performing operations activities within the project life cycle.


  • Partner with business leaders in developing and modifying programs and systems to meet business and customer needs
  • Assist project teams with issues in the initiation and planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology
  • Work with business leaders, and occasionally customers, to define requirements for new programs and systems
  • Responsible for identification of needs, benefits, strategy, research and development within project life cycle, support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling out solutions
  • Acquire resources and coordinate the efforts of team members and contractors in order to deliver projects according to plan and budget
  • Engineer tactical solutions to implement various software deployments, projects and operational needs
  • Assist in the development of implementation and/or cutover plans for new or upgraded systems
  • Define project success criteria, disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle, and provide clarity to management regarding project status
  • Identify reported issues with existing development projects and adapt project according to goals
  • Perform regular reviews of resource allocation
  • Communicate prioritization of projects and goals to internal customers, setting realistic expectations of project delivery
  • Problem solving by determining which answer/course of action is best and by consulting with other levels of administration to find alternative options
  • Interpret/discuss information with peers including terminology/concepts not familiar to many people, and recommend actions involving complex issues (may resolve problems within established practices)
  • Provide guidance and set the work pace of project while unofficially evaluating team performance
  • No budget responsibility but contributes to following year’s plan
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors
  • Build, develop, and grow business relationships to ensure success of projects
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned


Education, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP Knowledge preferred
  • Experience with the deployment of software and business solutions
  • Strong familiarity with project management software ? Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Adept at influencing without authority
