Product Development Coordinator – Apparel

Job Summary

This is a full time role for a candidate who is meticulous with details and driven by both the creative and technical aspects of design. This Product Development Coordinator will join an existing product development team and have a hand in creating styles that will be worn by thousands of people worldwide.  The person in this role will bring with them drive and passion for developing appealing, functional and technically sound garments. This position requires an out of the box thinker who can collaborate with the existing team, outside vendors, and across all levels of the organization.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate prototype samples to determine compliance of specs, construction, and design.
  • Communicate detailed comments and address all garment corrections with factory representatives.
  • Measure garments and record accurate measurements.
  • Draw accurate and detailed technical flats on Adobe illustrator.
  • Follow up with vendors for submit status and maintain all updates on sample tracking chart.
  • Maintain record of fabric testing with lab, and conduct in house garment testing.
  • Assist in tech pack development as needed.
  • Help product development team with other tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED Education/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Manufacturing, Product Development, Apparel Design or related field
  • 1-3 years’ work experience in technical design, apparel design or merchandising
  • Understanding of garment construction and patterns
  • In-depth knowledge of fabric, apparel, materials, construction and fit
  • Experience with PLM system desired
  • Photoshop and Illustrator experience
  • Microsoft suite experience
