Job Title:          Manager, Procurement

Status:              Exempt

Objective:        The Procurement Manager is responsible for procurement of all raw materials as part of the supply chain, and for managing the financial implications associated with the inventory of those raw materials.   This position is also responsible for all SAP Process Owner functions within the Purchasing module for SGC. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and motivate a staff of purchasing personnel, both in the corporate office and in El Salvador
  • Negotiate and execute purchase orders as needed to support the needs of the supply chain
  • SAP process owner – Purchasing Module
    • Owning and understanding all transactions with the module
    • Standardizing processes across all business domains
    • Documenting all processes with the module
    • Requires the ability to work with functional IT personnel to communicate new program specifications and/or program modifications
  • Procure the best possible price for all minor and major purchases
  • Plan and implement a standard policy for collecting requisitions (release strategies) from all the departments
  • Other Duties/Responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

Education, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required (engineering, logistics, supply chain management, or business preferred)
  • 7-10 years progressive experience in Purchasing with extensive experience in the apparel industry, preferably in a strategic setting
  • 3 – 5 years of experience with ERP systems preferred
  • 3 – 5 years of SAP experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Strong computer skills, ideally with experience using Windows-based PC programs
  • Extensive knowledge of procurement processes including but not limited to having adequate raw material supplies as part of the supply chain
  • Extensive knowledge of purchasing activities including pre-payments, down-payments, approving vendor invoices, establishing new vendors
  • Skilled in developing policies and procedures for internal and external communications
