JOB SUMMARY
The Corporate Accounts Payable Manager oversees all activities in the A/P department with a focus on ensuring accurate and timely payment of expenses and disbursements.  This leader must be strategic, proactive, resourceful, and able to build strong relationships within the A/P department and other departments across the company.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees all activities of the A/P department including, customer vendor relations, and the A/P team which handles all disbursement activity and departmental functions

Develops, implements and maintains proper systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable processes, to ensure adherence to company guidelines and SOX compliance

Manages monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information; ensures accuracy of journal entries and financial statements on a regular monthly basis

Provides guidance and support to all SGC business units

Evaluates, develops, and manages staff to enhance their overall performance and results aligning to company objectives

Streamlines A/P processes, reducing excess operational costs, and improving departmental productivity and efficiencies as needed

Prepares and recommends operating and personnel budgets for approval, and monitors spending for adherence to budget, recommends variances as necessary

Acts as a liaison between the company, government and external parties to address information needs and to ensure that proper information is maintained for historical purposes

Prepares and analyzes required reporting on departmental activities

Performs other duties and tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years previous experience in a supervisory capacity

Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Accounting, Finance or related field

Minimum of 7 years previous experience in Accounts Payable

Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook

Experience with SAP and/or other ERP systems preferred

Experience with various banking portals and AP automation software a plus

Strong analytical and complex problem solving skills required

Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and ability to meet critical deadlines

Experience working for a global manufacturing company a plus
