Job Summary

The Director, Learning Development directs the needs assessment for training and staff development to enhance the effectiveness of employee performance in achieving the goals and objectives of the company.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops HR training programs for management and employees including, but not limited to assessments, competency based learning, change management, and leadership development.
  • Develops and facilitates learning activities, audio-visual materials, instructor guides and lesson plans.
  • Identifies/incorporates best practices and lessons learned into program plans.
  • Oversee programs that increase efficiency, strengthen employee knowledge and abilities, improve leadership, and maintain overall company health; Proactively manage projects to ensure budgets, schedules, and performance criteria are met for small and large, multi-year projects.
  • Create and provide OD toolkits and processes to HR Business Partners, business leaders and near shore resourcing partners that are field ready and easy to use including change management methods, organizational assessment and design methods, retention strategies, etc.
  • Develop strong relationships with HR Business Partners and business unit leaders to understand business strategies, identify leadership capability requirements, assess gaps, and determine priority development solutions.
  • Manages systems, tools and process to incorporate learning and development throughout the organization (e.g. Caliper, Covey AAP).
  • Makes assessments of effectiveness of training in terms of employee accomplishments and performance.
  • Manages the performance evaluation system, process and objectives.
  • Oversees the employee engagement through the deployments of surveys and management of activities.
  • Participates in the talent assessment process, which includes action planning for individual development needs and succession planning.
  • Organizes executive coaching engagements for new leader development.
  • Coordinates and executes all compliance training and ensures employee training requirements by state are up to date.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education/Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Ten (10) years in Learning Development, Training & facilitation, Organizational Development, and/or Talent Management, or Training required.
  • Experience designing and implementing a variety of related learning development programs required.
  • Certification in one or more assessment/feedback instruments preferred (DiSC, Caliper, etc.).
