JOB SUMMARY:

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is an executive that oversees the information technology (IT) needs of the company. While the CIO needs to have a good understanding of the functions and structures within the IT arena, for SGC, it is equally if not more important that the CIO is able to oversee the strategic direction of the company’s technology initiatives and that they be able work effectively to understand and translate the needs of the business units and how technology can be used to meet those needs. In addition, as the needs of the business don’t always take into account new and developing technologies, the CIO needs to stay abreast of these advances so as to be able to present the business with abilities that may provide differentiation from SGC’s competitors and improved operational efficiencies.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create business value through technology.
  • Strategic planning of business growth objectives.
  • Ensure tech systems and procedures lead to outcomes in line with business goals.
  • Communicate effectively with the IT Steering Committee on all IT matters.
  • Manage System Admin and Development team personnel.
  • Oversee the development of customer service platforms.
  • Oversee and manage effective and efficient change management policies and procedures.
  • Manage the procurement of hardware, systems and services, including vendor selection and negotiation.
  • Stay abreast of new and existing security dangers so as to provide appropriate risk management and communication.
  • Stay abreast of and evaluate the regulatory requirements of both government mandates and industry certifications.
  • Establish IT policies, strategies, and standards.
  • Develop and approve technology futures and budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, Masters preferred. Manufacturer and service industry experience preferred.
  • 7-10 years proven managerial experience.
  • Experience with international operations is a required.
  • Significant experience working as a shared service for a multi divisional company required.
  • Change management experience: With its global and diverse operations, including recent acquisitions, the Company is in a constant state of evolution. The CIO plays an important role in helping to lead the IT related portions of this process.   Additionally, the Company must continually adapt to advances in technology in order to succeed, and the CIO must be at the forefront of helping us do this.
  • Regulatory knowledge: Knowledge of the relevant regulatory requirements, including PCI, PII and GDPR. Desirable to be familiar with certifications such as ISO and SOC.
  • ERP system knowledge: Knowledge of general ERP system functions and integration capabilities. Desirable to be familiar with SAP and more specifically, its apparel industry solutions.
  • Contract skills: Ability to review legal contracts from both vendors and customers from an IT point of view and communicate needs with legal and customer facing personnel.
