Job Summary

Multi-national U.S. public company headquartered in Pinellas County seeks an experienced and motivated attorney to join its growing company. This role supports the General Counsel in mitigating risks and helps the business increase revenue and profitability by providing sound legal advice.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Manage, participate in, and resolve general legal matters affecting the company and its subsidiaries.
  • Negotiate, draft, and interpret commercial agreements.
  • Research legal issues.
  • Handle special projects.
  • Review, revise, and implement company policies and procedures.
  • Advise on employment and labor matters, including conducting investigations as needed.
  • Advise on corporate securities, public company filings, and corporate governance matters.
  • Advise on regulatory and compliance matters affecting the company and its subsidiaries.
  • Oversee litigation and related matters.
  • Assist with M&A transactions.
  • Advise on intellectual property matters.
  • Interpret and apply U.S. and foreign laws to business operations.
  • Direct and supervise outside legal counsel.
  • May manage in-house attorneys, non-legal professionals, and/or interns as assigned by the general counsel.
  • Assist with legal operations implementations.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • 10+ years of relevant experience as a licensed practicing attorney, preferably through a mix of in-house and large law firm experience
  • Admission and membership in good standing to the Florida bar or another U.S. state bar with the ability to be Authorized House Counsel in Florida
  • Extensive general experience in a broad variety of legal areas
