Job Title:        Accounting Manager

Status:             Exempt

Objective:       The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities of the company’s largest business unit, Superior Uniform Group (within The Uniforms and Related Products segment). This is a very “hands on” accounting role requiring interaction with multiple departments. This position will manage a team of two accountants and report to the Segment Controller.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, cost centers, accruals, sales commissions, and other related closing activities;
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve transparency, timeliness, accuracy, and other key aspects resulting from the Company’s close process and related outputs.
  • Maintain the integrity of the data within the accounting system (SAP) and work with IT resources to ensure functionality and availability of general ledger software
  • Perform detailed review of monthly general ledger and financial statements to ensure accuracy and adherence to US GAAP
  • Perform variance analysis on financial results to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes impacting completeness and accuracy of the financial statements
  • Provide account coding for invoices within the Company’s document management system (Isynergy)
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of weekly, monthly and quarterly internal management reports
  • Support the annual external audit process, including coordinating with the internal teams to ensure work papers for audit are prepared timely and accurately

Requirements:

Required Education/Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting;
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience;
  • Experience working in an ERP environment. SAP preferred;
  • Advanced excel, extracting data from systems, and the ability to navigate through an ERP system
  • Requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact successfully with all levels of the organization
